Terrapin was selected by the Manchester College of Arts & Technology to provide urgently required high-tech tutorial facilities. The contract was won against fierce competition, because of Terrapin’s intelligent approach, in-depth specification and proven experience.
The result is a an impressive four storey, pitched roof building providing a total 2,368 sq m floor area and a spacious, modern and practical learning environment. It offers specialised learning space consisting of IT and CAD areas, technology laboratories, classrooms and general study areas. External cladding visually complements the adjacent Business Advice Centre, also constructed by Matrex Design & Build.
Based on the technologically advanced steel framed, element-build construction technology, the new building was completed within budget and on time, with just 26 weeks working on-site.
