Lutterworth Grammar School

Lutterworth Grammar is a non-selective Upper School providing education to around 1900 students aged 14-19. There have been significant improvements to the school, including the new Terrapin building that helped to make the school an attractive and comfortable place to work and learn.

When looking to expand their learning space, Lutterworth Grammar School and Community College were looking for a company offering a fast, versatile building service with best value for money. An existing double storey building had to be extended and matched exactly. Terrapin won the contract with our modern methods of construction providing the best overall service and a more intelligent solution.

The school has a high level of achievement and is constantly over-subscribed, leading to the urgent requirement. The building has a floor area of 718 sq m providing four classrooms and a staff room on the ground floor, and three classrooms, a store and office on the first floor. The ground floor classrooms are used for Religious, Social and Personal Education and the first floor for courses on Textile Technology, teaching the latest techniques in fabrics, sewing and design.

The school are pleased with their new building and have ordered another double storey, pitched roof building with brick cladding for use as a library. This project was enabled by Leicestershire County Council under the Teaching Environments for the Future Scheme.
