Broomfield Hospital

Terrapin constructed a 3 storey building for Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford, providing 9000 sq m of additional space. The building comprises of a 150 bed ward block with space for a further 50 beds, ophthalmology department, diabetic centre, out-patients department, community care, occupational health, staff training facilities and a microbiology unit.

The steel frame building was pre-engineered in our Milton Keynes factory, and installed on-site with a complete fit out, including landscaping of the grounds.

Off-site construction is ideal for hospital expansion and building works, as it assures minimal disturbance on site, a fast track programme, predictability in design, quality and performance, and allows flexibility in design to suit the unique requirements of the healthcare sector.
